TYPES & CLASS STANDARDS
Protective hard hats are classified according to the specific impact and electrical performance requirements they are designed to meet. All protective hard hats in accordance with this standard shall meet Type I impact requirements. In addition, all hard hats are further classified as meeting Class C, Class G, or Class E electrical requirements.

IMPACT TYPES:
Type I: Hard hats intended to reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow only to the top of the head.
Type II: Hard hats intended to reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow which may receive limited protection o« center, lateral or to the top of the head.

Hard Hat Interchange System
The Jackson Safety Hard Hat Interchange System is a must-have accessory when workers need to wear a hard hat with a face shield or welding helmet while on the job. The smart design lets you quickly attach or detach a face shield or welding helmet from the hard without removing it, so you stay protected at all times. The system makes an audible “click” so you’ll know the equipment is assembled correctly. It features a vertical lock-in to eliminate helmet and face shield creep, and is built with a push button quick release which works even while wearing gloves.
